After being injured in a car crash, I ruptured the L4 disk. I started drinking for pain. (I didn't want to get messed up with pills, and booze was legal.) After getting up to a fifth to 1/2 gallon of whiskey a day, and after having surgery and still was drinking the same amount, I entered rehab. That was nearly 7 years ago, and have never seen the necessity to drink again.
