In 2021, I had a blood clot that was resolved easily but then came another that was causing a problem. The vascular surgeon had me get a CT scan to look for the clot but when I got the results, it was cancer. It wasn’t just cancer it was stage four Merkel Cell Cancer. Merkel Cell is a fast growing, aggressive skin cancer and I had it internally. I had a 3x5 inch mass in my left groin with metastasis to my right lower rib with a 2x3 inch mass there. Well, crap!

Fast forward and I called the doctor’s office to see what was next. Ten minutes later the doctor is calling me from his car while he’s heading to the river. He said don’t worry because he has an immunotherapy that’ll knock it out. I said, “you sound confident so I’m trusting you!”

First treatment was in September and in November those masses were down to a mass the size of my thumb in my groin! In March, 2022, all the cancer was gone and I was what they call NED (no evidence of disease)! Im still NED!

The treatments make me feel like crap but I can work, play with my grandkids, and just enjoy life!

The demon behind me is the cancer! Second opinion doctor said six more months and it would have been too late.
