I've struggled with depression off and on for years, even taking medications and meeting with a therapist. I've thought about suicide so many times and even gotten close numerous times. I got a Phoenix tattoo on my side to remind myself to never give up. No matter what happens, you can start over even if you are covered in ashes. I have a semicolon tattoo with "My Story Isn't Over Yet" on my forearm as another reminder to not end things but to continue on. A few years ago I hit another really rough patch and during this round of therapy we finally uncovered some childhood issues that I had buried so deep, I had no idea they were directly impacting my struggles. Digging up those memories was a release and I encourage everyone to see a therapist. And understand it might take more than one therapist, or more than one event, to finally get to the root cause of your feelings. Now I have over 30 years of thinking and feeling a certain way so I will be working for a while to unwind everything but at least I am on the right path now. Never give up, put your demons behind you and continue on with this amazing life we are given!
